Connecting/linking your Connectbooks account to Quickbooks Desktop

Step 1: QuickBooks Files

ConnectBooks users, based on their QuickBooks software, can use either QuickBooks Online (QBO) or QuickBooks desktop to connect their Amazon store to their QuickBooks file.

How to begin:

  1. Go to the ConnectBooks web console, hover over your Amazon store’s name > select QuickBooks Setup.

The QuickBooks setup window opens:

  1. Based on your QuickBooks software, select Online or Desktop.

Connect to QuickBooks Desktop

The ConnectBooks desktop application runs on your local machine and integrates your ConnectBooks account to your desktop’s QuickBooks application via a special file called: QuickBooks Web Connector.

Here’s how it works:

Your QuickBooks desktop application has its own database on your local machine. ConnectBooks also has its own application database that you install on your desktop. ConnectBooks connects the databases together and pushes, based on your configuration, updates from its Amazon feed to your local QuickBooks file.

Important - Before you begin:

  • When syncing the two programs for this first time, it is necessary for ConnectBooks and QBs to run or be hosted on the same PC or server.

  • You must be logged in as the Admin user. This is a one-time requirement used to get authorization to connect to the software QuickBooks file.

  • In addition, make sure that you logged in as a Single user Mode.

To connect your QuickBooks file to ConnectBooks:

  1. Below Connect to QuickBooks Desktop, click Install New File. This file is the QuickBooks Web Connector(QWC) file that you use to connect your QuickBooks to ConnectBooks.

The Install QuickBooks QWC file window opens.

  1. Click QuickBooks with Connector File > download and save the file to your computer. After the download completes, open the file.

The Authorize New Web Service window opens.

  1. Click Ok.

Note – If the QuickBooks Web Connector Warning window opens, click Yes.

The QuickBooks Application Certificate window opens.

  1. Select the checkbox Yes, whenever the QuickBooks company file is open.

  1. Click Continue.

The Access Confirmation window opens.

  1. Click Done.

The QuickBooks Web Connector file opens. We recommend that you save the QWC password found on the Connectbooks platform.

  1. In the Application column, select the checkbox.

  1. In the Password column, enter your QWC password.

  1. In the pop-up window that opens, click Yes to save the password.

  2. Click the Update Selected tab. This starts the sync process between your QuickBooks file and ConnectBooks.

  1. Verify that inside theStatus field Last Result shows > OK.

  1. Close the Install QuickBooks QWC file.

After the QuickBooks file is synced (connected) to ConnectBooks, the file’s radial button shows a green circle.

Your Quickbooks file is now connected to ConnectBooks. To continue the setup, go to QuickBooks Settings.
