On the Product Settings page, ConnectBooks gives you all your SKU’s listed with your custom mapping options.

The first column called Cost is for users that do not use the inventory integration plan. Instead, they manually input item costs, as they do not map any items.

To get a list of your mapping options, click on the down arrow next to each SKU.

  • ASIN - The ASIN number is assigned as the QuickBooks item name. Each time this ASIN is sold, ConnectBooks either finds this existing ASIN item name in QBs, or creates a new one.

  • SKU - SKU name is assigned as the QBs item name. This is similar to the rule for ASINs/ Each time this SKU is sold, ConnectBooks either finds this existing SKU item name in QBs, or creates a new one.

  • Quick BooksMost popular choice. Users decide, based on the database of inventory items already created in QB, how this item should be sold in QBs.

To use QuickBooks:

  1. Below Mapping by, click the down arrow.

  2. Select Quick Books.

  3. In the applicable product tab, click the down arrow and start typing the name of the item to which you want to map this product to. A list of existing items opens based on characters you typed.

  4. Select the correct QBs item name you want to map this SKU to.

  • New - If the item you want to map this SKU to does not exist yet in QBs, you have the option to have ConnectBooks create a new item in QBs for you. To use this option, select New > in the Name in QuickBooks column, type the new item name that you want to create.

  • Group Items - This option is for sellers that have combo items. In this case a seller may buy from its vendor three different items and sell them packaged as one SKU. This is similar to an assembly item in QBs. Sellers no longer need to create assembly items, because ConnectBooks’ Group Items replaces the need for that.

Use Case:

An Amazon seller sells a camera, a camera case, and a SD Card as one combo (packaged) item on Amazon. When you select the Group Item option, ConnectBooks allows you to map this SKU to a few different items in QBs.

The above is an example screenshot that shows when the Group Item option is selected. To add an item to the group, click Add Items. Note - You can add as many items to the group as you want. To map the group, use the same guidelines used to map regular items.

*Additional fields:

  • Qty - Whereas, when you map a regular item, you can leave this blank when the item Qty is only one, by group items a quantity is always required even if it is just one.

  • Category - Enter the class name that you want to give this item. You can give the group any class name you want to identify it with, or you can copy and paste the SKU name to be the class name. (In regular item mapping this is not necessary as each SKU gets a class name that corresponds to the QBs item name it is mapped to).

  • Group Percent - To calculate the Group percentage:

  1. Obtain the total cost of the group.

  2. Take each individual cost and multiply it by 100.

  3. Divide it by the group’s total cost.

  4. Repeat these steps for each item.

Multi-packs - For sellers that sell an item in multiple packs (combo). For example, they buy an item in single units, and then resell it in packs of 2 or 4. The correct QBs item name (for the single item) must be selected. In addition, the Qty field (see screenshot below) must be filled out with the correct quantity being sold in that SKU. In all cases where only one item is sold, there is no need to fill out a 1 in the Qty field, as the default when blank is 1.
