ConnectBooks couldn't send a settlement to QuickBooks because a product's account is the wrong type. The message says "The type of the associated account is invalid" or "Check if the accounts for these items are of the correct type".
Why it happens
Every inventory product in QuickBooks needs 3 accounts, and each one must be the right type:
Income account: type Income, detail type "Sales of Product Income".
Inventory asset account: type Other Current Assets, detail type Inventory.
Expense account: type Cost of Goods Sold.
If one of them is set to a different type, QuickBooks rejects the settlement.
How to fix it
In ConnectBooks, go to Stores & Files and click the store.
On the Accounting tab, under Accounting Settings, click Settings. Then open the Inventory Settings tab.
Under Default Accounts, check that each account is the right type (see above). Pick a different one if not, then click Save.
If the error named a product, also check that product in QuickBooks: go to Sales > Products and services, open it, and fix its accounts.
Go to Accounting Export. Click the 3 dots on the settlement and choose "Resend to QuickBooks".
Frequently asked questions
How do I see an account's type?
In QuickBooks, open your Chart of accounts (your list of accounts). The type and detail type show next to each account.
The right account doesn't show in the list.
Its account type is probably wrong, or the account is inactive. Fix it in QuickBooks, then click Sync QuickBooks at the top of Store Settings.
