The user permissions feature in ConnectBooks lets you assign roles and customize access for each team member. This helps protect sensitive data while ensuring users have the tools they need to work effectively.

Click on the profile icon on top right corner, and select Users.

To get started, invite the user and have them accept the invitation. Once accepted, you can set their permissions. (For non-inventory permissions, click here.)

ConnectStock User Permissions:

First, you can set which inventory file the user can have access to.

For each user, you can set the following permissions:

Inventory Files:

  • View: The user can see inventory files settings but cannot make changes.

  • Edit: The user can view and make changes to inventory files settings.

  • None: The user has no access to inventory files settings.

View Items:

  1. All Items – View all items.

  2. User’s Items – View only items assigned to the user.

  3. Edit All Items – View, create and edit all items.

  4. Edit User’s Items – View and edit only items assigned to the user.

Note: When "User’s Items" is selected, any reports the user generates will include only those specific items.

Inventory Summary Report, Inventory Ledger Report, Inventory Aging Report:

  1. View – User can access inventory reports based on their item-level permissions.

  2. None – User cannot access inventory reports.

Transaction Access:

You can control user access to inventory transactions, including

  • Bills

  • Purchase Orders

  • Invoices

  • Adjustments

  • Assemblies

  • Transfers

  • FBA Shipments

For each type, choose either:

  • View – User can see all transactions.

  • Edit and View – User can create and modify all transactions.

  • None – No access.

Important: The following transaction types—Bills, Purchase Orders, Invoices, Adjustments, Assemblies, Transfers, and FBA Shipments—cannot be limited to a user’s own items; selecting View or Edit gives access to all transactions of that type.

Assign the User as a Buyer

– Go to the Items page under the Inventory tab.
– Select the relevant item(s).
– Add the user as a Buyer (multiple buyers can be assigned per item).

User Permissions for Profit Reports

To give a user access to P&L reports, you must assign them as a Buyer for each SKU on the Listings page. See detailed instructions here.
