By default, ConnectBooks exports Amazon sales to QuickBooks using the settlement posted date — the date Amazon closes the settlement.
When Export Sales to QuickBooks by Ship Date is enabled, ConnectBooks exports each sale using the order’s ship date instead.
How to enable the setting
Go to Stores & Files
Select the store you want to update
Click Accounting Settings
Scroll down to Configure Advanced Settings
Enable Export Sales to QuickBooks by Ship Date
How it works
When this setting is enabled:
ConnectBooks gets the ship date for each order in a settlement
Each sale is exported to QuickBooks using the ship date
Settlements are exported only after all transactions in the settlement have ship dates assigned
Example
An order ships on December 28.
Amazon adds the order to a settlement on January 4, but the settlement does not close until January 15. The settlement cannot be exported until it closes.
With the setting enabled: the settlement is exported on January 15, but the sale will be dated December 28 in QuickBooks, so the revenue counts toward December.
With the setting disabled: the settlement is exported on January 15 and the sale is dated January 4 when Amazon posted the sale, so the revenue counts toward January.
Ramifications of enabling this setting
Sales for a month may take longer to fully appear in QuickBooks.
Amazon settlements usually close days or weeks after orders ship. Orders shipped near the end of a month are often included in settlements that close during the following month.
Because of this, you may need to wait until additional settlements are closed and exported before the month is fully complete in QuickBooks.
