What's the difference between Order Date and Posted Date on the reports

When tracking your orders, and viewing reports, it's important to know the difference between the Order Date and the Posted Date.

Every order has an order date and a posted date, ConnectBooks has both dates for every order.

  • Order Date: This is the day the customer placed the order.

  • Posted Date: This is the day the order posts in your Amazon account, usually after it ships.

FBA Orders: Amazon usually makes the money available within a day after the order ships.

FBM Orders: Amazon typically pays you seven days after the order ships.

Business Orders: These can have a delay of up to a month because payment terms are part of a separate business agreement.

Comparing Reports

Different Amazon reports use different dates:

  • Amazon Sales Business Report: Based on Order Date.

    • When comparing this report with ConnectBooks, run your ConnectBooks reports by Order Date, and filter "Order" only.

  • Amazon Date Range Report and 1099 Form: Based on Posted Date.

    • For these comparisons, run your ConnectBooks reports by Posted Date.

Knowing which date each report uses ensures accurate comparisons and better financial tracking.
