If you are an approved accounting firm in ConnectBooks, you can invite your employees to the Accounting Portal and choose which client accounts each person can see. Employees do not need a separate invite from each client.
Not approved yet? See How to add your accountant to ConnectBooks.
Step 1. Open the Employees page
Click your initials in the top right corner and select Accounting Employees.
Step 2. Click Add Employee
On the Employees page, click the green Add Employee button in the top right corner.
Step 3. Fill in the employee details
In the Invite Employee window, enter:
First Name
Last Name
Email
Step 4. Choose the access level
You have 2 options:
Assign Admin Permission. Check this box to give the employee access to all client accounts, including new clients you add later. Admins show an Admin label in the list instead of an accounts dropdown.
Accounts. Leave the box unchecked and select the client accounts this employee can access from the dropdown. You can select more than 1.
Example: Your firm has 3 clients. Sarah does the books for 2 of them. Leave Admin unchecked and select those 2 accounts. Dave manages the whole team. Check Assign Admin Permission and he sees all 3, plus any client you add next month.
Step 5. Click Invite User
The employee gets an email with a link to set up their login. Their status shows Invited until they accept, then changes to Active.
How employees switch between clients
After login, employees use the Account dropdown in the top left corner to move between the client accounts assigned to them.
Manage access later
Click the 3 dots next to an employee to edit their accounts or remove them. Changes take effect immediately.
