The store window lets you rename a store, check that it's connected, turn some syncing on or off, or delete it.
How it works
A store is 1 marketplace account, like your Amazon US account or your Shopify shop. Go to Stores & Files in the main menu and click a store card. The store window opens over Stores & Files with the store name, its connection status and a few tabs. The tabs depend on the store: Amazon US and Walmart stores have a Settings tab, and Shopify stores have a Gateways & Apps tab.
Rename a store
To rename a store:
Go to Stores & Files and click the store.
Click the 3 dots at the top right of the store window.
Click Edit store Name.
Type the new name and click Save.
The new name is only used inside ConnectBooks. It doesn't change the store on the marketplace.
Check the sync status
To check if a store is connected:
Go to Stores & Files. Each store card shows a green check when the store is connected, or a red X when it's disconnected. A QuickBooks or Xero logo shows on the card once the store's accounting setup is done.
Click the store to see more:
Next to the store name you see the same green check (Connected) or red X (Disconnected). On most stores, click the red X to reconnect. On a Walmart store, the red X opens Connect Walmart Ads instead, so use the steps in How to reconnect a disconnected store.
Amazon and Walmart stores also have an ad icon. Green means Advertising Connected. Red means Advertising Disconnected. Click the red icon to reconnect your ads.
On the Accounting tab, the colored bar shows Not Connected, Connected, or a Xero status such as Expired. Hover over it to see Last Sync (the last time your accounting file synced) and Connected On.
For help with a red X, see How to reconnect a disconnected store.
Pause or resume syncing
There's no pause button for a whole store. You can turn some kinds of syncing on or off.
To turn AWD or WFS syncing on or off:
Click your Amazon US or Walmart store and open the Settings tab.
Turn AWD Inventory on or off (Amazon US). This syncs your AWD (Amazon Warehousing and Distribution) inventory.
Or turn Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) on or off (Walmart). This syncs your WFS inbound shipments.
The change saves right away.
To pause or resume a Shopify gateway or app:
Click your Shopify store and open the Gateways & Apps tab.
Click Gateways or Apps at the top. Gateways are the ways your customers pay. Apps are the Shopify apps your orders come from.
Turn a switch off to pause it, or on to resume it. The line above the list shows how many are on, for example "3 of 5 syncing".
Click Save.
When a gateway or app is paused, new orders from it stop syncing. Data that already synced stays. For more on gateways and apps, see Shopify Apps and Gateways Explained.
Delete a store
To delete a store:
Go to Stores & Files and click the store.
Click the 3 dots at the top right, then click Delete Store.
If the store is in a ConnectStock inventory file, choose "Yes, I want to remove data" or "No, I want to keep data".
Type CONTINUE and click Continue.
Deleting a store can't be undone in the app.
When you delete a store:
It's removed from Stores & Files and stops syncing.
It's disconnected from QuickBooks or Xero. Exports that were waiting or running are deleted, and its fee mappings are removed. For QuickBooks, its product mappings are removed too.
Anything already exported to QuickBooks or Xero stays there.
If it's in a ConnectStock inventory file, its item mappings in that file are removed. If you chose "Yes, I want to remove data", its sales and shipments are also removed from your inventory, and your inventory is recalculated.
Things to know
On plans without accounting, the store tabs are locked and show "Upgrade ConnectBooks plan to access accounting settings". You can still rename or delete the store.
If your ConnectStock file has an Accounting Closing Date on or after the store's start date in that file, you can't delete the store until you unlock the file. The message says "File is locked. unlock file to proceed."
On the Gateways & Apps tab, some gateway switches are greyed out. They belong to an app, so they follow that app's switch.
The first time you turn a Shopify app on or off and click Save, ConnectBooks asks you to confirm a switch to app based grouping. Each pair of app and payment gateway then gets its own group, starting the date shown in the message. Orders before that date keep their old grouping. This is permanent.
To clear data from a paused gateway, click the 3 dots on its row. Delete from QB removes its exported data from QuickBooks but keeps it in ConnectBooks. Delete All removes all its groups and transactions from ConnectBooks. If its data was exported to QuickBooks, delete it from QuickBooks first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pause a whole store?
No. There's no pause button for a whole store. You can pause single Shopify gateways or apps, turn off AWD or WFS syncing, or delete the store.
Does renaming a store change it on Amazon or Shopify?
No. The name is only used inside ConnectBooks.
Will deleting a store remove what I already exported to QuickBooks or Xero?
No. Data that was already exported stays in QuickBooks or Xero. Only exports that hadn't been sent yet are deleted.
My store shows a red X. What do I do?
The store is disconnected. On most stores, click the red X in the store window to reconnect it. For Walmart, or if you need more help, see How to reconnect a disconnected store.
