How to Fix Missing Shipping Costs Across Many Settlements at Once

Use Resolve All Missing Shipping on the Accounting Export page to add missing shipping costs for many orders and settlements in 1 place.

Resolve All Missing Shipping lets you fill in missing shipping costs for every settlement in a date range at once, instead of opening each settlement.

How it works

A settlement is 1 payout from the marketplace, with the orders and fees that belong to it. If your store gets shipping costs from a shipping integration, like ShipStation, Veeqo, SellerCloud or GoFlow, ConnectBooks adds the shipping cost to each order. Sometimes an order comes in with no shipping cost, or with an error. Pick a store and a date range on the Accounting Export page, and Resolve All Missing Shipping lists all of those orders on 1 page. The cost you save is added to the settlement that order belongs to.

Open Resolve All Missing Shipping

To open it:

  1. Click Accounting Export in the main menu and pick your store.

  2. Click the date box, choose a start date and an end date, then click Apply.

  3. Click More, then click Resolve All Missing Shipping.

The page shows your store and the date range at the top. Orders are split into 2 lists: Orders Missing Shipping Cost and Orders Encountered Errors.

Enter costs on screen

To add a shipping cost:

  1. Find the order by its Order Number. Click the arrow at the start of the row to see the SKUs and ASINs in that row.

  2. Type the shipping cost for the items in that row in the Shipping Cost box.

  3. Click Save. A green check shows when it's saved.

To change a saved cost, click Edit next to it. Each row is 1 transaction of an order. If an order shows in 2 rows, each row needs its own cost.

Fill in costs with Excel

To add many costs at once:

  1. Click Export. You get an Excel file with the columns Order Id, Sku and Shipping Cost for every order on both lists. Orders you already saved show their cost.

  2. Fill in the Shipping Cost column with the cost for the whole order.

  3. Click Import, choose your file, then click Import.

The list reloads after the import.

Things to know

  • You only see Resolve All Missing Shipping when you look at 1 store, and only if that store gets shipping costs from a shipping integration.

  • A settlement is included when it starts or ends inside your date range.

  • On screen, the cost you type covers only the items in that row. ConnectBooks splits it across those items by units.

  • In the import file, the cost is for the whole order. ConnectBooks spreads it across all of the order's rows by units: row shipping = order shipping cost × row units ÷ order units.

  • In the import file, each Order Id must be an order on the list for that date range. If the same Order Id is in the file twice, both rows are skipped.

  • You can't save a cost while that settlement is still syncing from your shipping tool. The message says "Cannot update cost while settlement is syncing from third party".

  • Missing shipping doesn't stop you from exporting the settlement.

  • To fix 1 settlement only, click its issues on the Accounting Export page and click Fix next to Missing shipping.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see Resolve All Missing Shipping under More?

Pick 1 store first, not all stores. The option also only shows for stores that get shipping costs from a shipping integration.

Why is Resolve All Missing Shipping greyed out?

You need a start date and an end date. Click the date box, pick both dates and click Apply.

The page says "No orders need resolving in the selected range." What does that mean?

Every order in those settlements already has a shipping cost. Nothing needs fixing for those dates.

Do I still need to fix each settlement on its own?

No. A cost you save here goes to the settlement that order belongs to, so you can fix all settlements in the range from 1 page.
