How FBA Returns Are Handled in the New Advanced FBA Inventory System

In the new Advanced FBA inventory system, when Amazon receives a return and adds the item back into FBA inventory, that's when ConnectBooks updates your inventory—based on the physical return, not the refund date.

If you're using ConnectStock, ConnectBooks also considers the condition of the returned item:

  • Sellable: If Amazon marks the return as sellable, ConnectBooks adds it to your FBA Sellable warehouse in ConnectStock.

  • Unsellable: If Amazon marks the return as unsellable, it’s added to your FBA Unsellable warehouse.

When Is the Unsellable Return Item Removed from Inventory?

Returned items stay in your inventory as long as they remain in FBA. They are only removed when you take action, such as:

  • Disposal Order: If you instruct Amazon to dispose of the item, it’s removed from inventory.

  • Removal Order: If you request the item be returned to you, ConnectBooks handles it based on your ConnectStock settings:

    • You can direct us to send sellable items to a removal sellable warehouse, and unsellable items to a removal unsellable warehouse.

    • Alternatively, for unsellable items, you can choose to automatically dispose them from inventory rather than assigning them to a warehouse.

This setup ensures your inventory accurately reflects what's physically happening with your FBA stock—and gives you control over how returned items are managed.

Note: This applies only to FBA Returns. All other inventory behavior remains unchanged.
