Overview
Every ConnectBooks account receives a one time $10 in free Crunch credit. This credit is added automatically and does not expire.
To continue using Crunch after your free credit is used, select a monthly credit plan of $25, $50, $100, $200, or $500. Each plan provides the same dollar amount in credit each billing period.
How usage is measured
Crunch usage is measured in tokens. A token is a unit of text that the AI reads, processes, or generates. Each request consumes credit based on the number of tokens it requires.
Requests do not have a fixed price. A request that reads more data consumes more credit.
Request type | Relative cost |
Simple question or small report | Low |
Large report or comparison of 2 reports | Higher |
Complex analysis across hundreds of data points | Highest |
Example: "What was my Amazon revenue in August?" consumes less credit than "Analyze all my price changes over the last 12 months and tell me which ones hurt and helped sales."
How to Add a credit plan
Open your profile menu and select Plans.
Locate Crunch AI credits.
Select Add credits.
Select a monthly amount and confirm.
Payment is processed immediately and the full credit amount is available at once. The plan renews on your ConnectBooks invoice date and appears on the same invoice, using the same payment method.
Credit plans are recurring monthly subscriptions. They are not single purchases.
To view your balance and renewal date, or to change your plan, select Manage credits.
Change or cancel a credit plan
Action | Result |
Increase plan | The difference is charged immediately and added as credit. Future renewals use the new amount. |
Decrease plan | Your current balance remains until renewal. The new amount applies from your next invoice. |
Cancel plan | Select No credit plan. Your paid credit remains until renewal, after which charges stop. |
Example: Moving from the $25 plan to the $50 plan charges $25 and adds $25 in credit immediately.
Decreasing or canceling a plan does not result in a partial refund. You can change your selection more than once. If you cancel and reselect the same plan within the same billing period, the cancellation is reversed at no additional charge.
Renewal and unused credit
Paid credit resets on each ConnectBooks invoice date. Unused paid credit expires at renewal, with 2 exceptions:
Your first billing period. Unused paid credit is applied to your next invoice.
Any billing period in which you increase your plan. Unused paid credit is applied to your next invoice.
These adjustments are applied automatically as invoice reductions. They are not refunded to your payment method.
Free credit is not affected by renewal and cannot be exchanged for cash.
What consumes credit
Credit is consumed by:
Questions and analyses in Crunch
AI dashboard updates, including scheduled updates
Credit is not consumed by standard ConnectBooks reports, document parsing, data syncing, accounting, or inventory features.
All users on an account share 1 credit balance. Free credit is consumed before paid credit.
When your balance is depleted
When your credit reaches zero, Crunch stops responding and scheduled AI dashboard updates pause. Your most recent dashboard results remain visible until updates resume.
To restore access, add a credit plan, increase your current plan, or wait for renewal. Single top up purchases are not available.
If your $500 plan is depleted, additional credit cannot be added before renewal. Contact support@connectbooks.com to discuss your usage.
All other ConnectBooks features continue to operate normally.
Frequently asked questions
Which ConnectBooks plans include Crunch?
Crunch is available on current Gold, Diamond, Platinum, and White Glove plans.
Crunch is not available on Free, Silver, Lite, free trial, custom price, or legacy plans. Accounts on legacy plans must upgrade to a current eligible plan.
If Crunch was enabled manually for your account, standard pricing applies.
How many questions does $25 cover?
There is no fixed number. Consumption depends on the amount of data Crunch processes for each request. Simple questions consume less credit. Large reports and detailed analyses consume more.
Is a payment method required for the free $10?
No. Free credit is added automatically, 1 time per account. An eligible ConnectBooks plan is required to use Crunch.
Adding a paid plan does not remove remaining free credit. Canceling and restarting a plan does not grant additional free credit.
Why was I charged at signup and again on my invoice date?
The first payment provides credit immediately. The next invoice begins a new monthly credit period.
If you sign up shortly before your renewal date, the first period is short. Unused paid credit from that period is applied to your next invoice.
Does a failed or canceled response consume credit?
Yes. Processing that has completed consumes credit, even if the response fails, is stopped, or the page is closed.
For assistance with a failed response or a charge, contact support@connectbooks.com with your account name and the relevant date or date range.
Why is my balance below zero?
The final cost of a request is calculated when the response is complete. A final request may reduce your balance a few cents below zero. This overage is not billed.
What happens if my payment fails?
No credit is added and no plan is started. Update your payment details and try again.
Why can I not open Plans or see the credit tile?
If your account has no payment method on file, you are directed to the package selection page. Add a payment method to access Plans.
The credit tile is hidden if your plan does not include Crunch or if credit plans are unavailable. If you are on Gold or above and do not see the tile, your account may be on a legacy plan version. Contact support@connectbooks.com for assistance.
What happens if I switch to a ConnectBooks plan without Crunch?
Crunch access ends. Your credit plan does not cancel automatically. Contact support@connectbooks.com to remove the plan and stop further charges.
What happens if I cancel ConnectBooks?
Your Crunch credit plan ends with your ConnectBooks subscription. Remaining credit is not refunded.
